Tailteann Cup-winning manager Oisín McConville is to stay with Wicklow in 2027.

The Crossmaglen native has been managing the Leinster county since 2023 and, despite some suggestions he may take a more high-profile job closer to home, the county board have confirmed McConville will see out the two-year term agreed in wake of 2025 season.

Wicklow famously and dramatically defeated Down in this year's Tailteann Cup final, coming from 13 points down early in the second half to beat the Mournemen 1-21 to 2-16.

The victory guarantees the Division 4 outfit Sam Maguire football in 2027.

The Wicklow hurlers will be managed by John 'Bosco' O'Neill once more. The Glenealy clubman has been in charge since 2024.
