Dundee United can confirm this afternoon’s Scottish Cup Fifth Round tie with The Spartans has been postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.

Despite considerable efforts made by staff throughout the week to ensure the pitch remained in playable condition, including covering the entirety surface from Wednesday until this morning, a match official has postponed the match in the interest of player safety.

Furthermore, continuous, torrential rainfall witnessed across the north east throughout the past week and forecast for the remainder of the day has made it unlikely that an area of cornern will improve ahead of kick-off.

We apologise to both sets of supporters for any inconvenience caused.

The rearranged fixture will take place on Tuesday 17 February, with a 7:45pm kick-off. Ticketing information for the rearranged match will be communicated in due course.
