Afghanistan-India T20I likely to be postponed

The first Twenty20 International between Afghanistan and India was in danger of being postponed by a day because of the BRICS Summit in New Delhi. However, the Delhi District Cricket Association (DDCA) has clarified that the match will go ahead as scheduled on Sunday.

The match at the Arun Jaitley Stadium was facing security-related concerns arising from the Summit in the Capital, prompting the Delhi Police to seek its rescheduling. The DDCA, however, confirmed late on Thursday evening that there is no change to the match schedule.

“India–Afghanistan 1st T20I on 13 September at Arun Jaitley Stadium will go ahead as scheduled. Following a meeting with Delhi Traffic Police, DDCA has been assured of all necessary support and arrangements,” the DDCA said in a social media post.
