(Photo by Claudio Villa/Getty Images)After several days of intense debate, Milan legend Marco Van Basten called out UEFA for Julian Alvarez’s disallowed penalty kick against Real Madrid.Atletico Madrid lost to their city rivals on penalties on Wednesday, facing Champions League elimination in the Round of 16.An Alvarez penalty kick was disallowed in the penalty shootout as VAR ruled the ex-Man City striker had touched the ball twice before it entered the net.Carlo Ancelotti refused to fuel controversy during a press conference on Friday, but his friend and former Milan teammate Van Basten did otherwise.The ex-striker posted a video of Alvarez’s penalty kick, arguing that the Argentinean forward had only touched the ball once.“UEFA has the duty to fix this,” the ex-Netherlands international wrote in an Instagram story.Ancelotti and Van Basten played 117 games together at Milan, including back-to-back European Cup Finals (now Champions League) against Steaua Bucarest in 1989 and Benfica in 1990.Van Basten scored 125 goals in 201 appearances with Milan.
