Four quarterfinal spots will be up for grabs at the ATP 250 in Buenos Aires. Second seed Holger Rune gets his campaign underway against home favorite Mariano Navone. Diego Schwartzman, meanwhile, survived his opening match but will he continue to delay his tennis retirement? Who will reach the last eight?ATP Buenos Aires Day 4 PredictionsJoao Fonseca vs Federico CoriaHead-to-head: first meetingJoao Fonseca has an upcoming wild card appearance at his home tournament in Rio. But he could do with a deep run in Buenos Aires. He’s coming off an assured straight-sets win over Tomas Martin Etcheverry. Another Argentinian awaits in the second round. Federico Coria was given a late reprieve into the main draw as a lucky loser. He lost just five games against Hugo Gaston in the first round. Coria reached the semifinals in this tournament 12 months ago but has a tall order to upstage the fast-rising Fonseca.Prediction: Fonseca in 2Pedro Martinez vs Diego SchwartzmanHead-to-head: Schwartzman 1-0 MartinezIt almost feels surreal that Schwartzman is bowing out at the end of this tournament. He delivered one of his best performances in a while by knocking out the much-fancied Nicolas Jarry. The strong crowd support, including his family members, is certainly helping him from the stands, and he’s determined to finish his career with a flourish. Pedro Martinez is a quintessential clay-court expert, but he didn’t look convincing in downing Damir Dzumhur in his opening match. It could be that his transition from indoor hard to clay is just taking a bit more time. This is a winnable match for Schwartzman.Prediction: Schwartzman in 3Embed from Getty ImagesLorenzo Musetti vs Corentin MoutetHead-to-head: first meetingLorenzo Musetti will play in his first tournament since the Australian Open. The Italian is a former quarterfinalist in Buenos Aires and clinched a Silver Medal on his last outing on clay courts. Corentin Moutet won his first match this week by beating Sumit Nagal 7-5 6-2. The Frenchman has recovered from a serious incident that happened in Melbourne when he confessed to collapsing in the shower just before his third-round match. Moutet is so tough to play against on slow clay but Musetti should elevate his level and secure a hard-fought victory.Prediction: Musetti in 3Holger Rune vs Mariano NavoneHead-to-head: Rune 1-0 NavoneHolger Rune is an unexpected entrant at the ATP 250 in Buenos Aires. His two previous visits to Argentina’s capital both ended in first-round exits. He was doubtful of playing this week after falling ill in Rotterdam (lost 4-6 1-6 to Martinez). Marinao Navone is no pushover. He owns an exemplary record on clay with six Challenger titles and stretched the Dane to three sets in their only career meeting in Madrid last season. An out-of-sorts Rune could be staring at another meek, early defeat.Prediction: Navone in 3Main Photo Credit: Mike Frey-Imagn Images
