Virginia Tech football's coaching search begins with recruiting at the heart of five key components to address

It did not work for Justin Fuente, who was an offensive-minded coach. It did not work for Brent Pry, who was a defensive-mind coach. In hitting the reset button for the third time since legendary coach Frank Beamer's late-2015 retirement, Virginia Tech finds itself in the same spot as many others in the ACC.

The school is trying to find its identity and regain its relevance in a vastly different college football environment than the one that Beamer left after the 2015 season, and there are a few important elements needed to recruit to the Blacksburg, Virginia, program.
