Liverpool transfer round-up as Alexander Isak stance revealed and Reds move closer to centre-back deal

Liverpool have been one of the busiest teams in the transfer window thus far.

Jeremie Frimpong has been added to Arne Slot’s ranks, with Florian Wirtz’s record-breaking move now also just a few days away.

However, seeing as though the window is still young and there’s plenty more time for deals to go through, it’s not all that much of a surprise to see rumours still popping up left, right and centre.

Here, Rousing The Kop covers some of the transfer news to have emerged from Anfield on Thursday, 19 June.

One of football’s worst-kept secrets at the moment is the fact that Milos Kerkez is set to be announced as a Liverpool player.

The left-back has been long-linked with an Anfield switch, and now it feels like things are starting to drag on a bit.

Despite most fans knowing that the Hungarian international has his heart set on Merseyside, according to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, other clubs were trying to prise him away from Liverpool until the last minute.

Fortunately for Slot, those advances were rejected, with the left-back just waiting to be officially announced by the Reds.

One surprising transfer rumour that has emerged over the last couple of days is that Atletico Madrid have shown an interest in Andy Robertson.

Most fans expected Kostas Tsimikas to be the one sold on this summer, but instead, it seems like the Scotsman will be the one shipped out.

Numerous figures have been reported, but with Robertson only having a year left on his current deal, Liverpool don’t have much room to negotiate.

And, as per a fresh report from journalist Lewis Steele, it seems like the Reds will have their answer from Robertson about his Liverpool future over the ‘coming week.’

Bayer Leverkusen are in ‘active talks’ with Liverpool over Jarell Quansah

Jarell Quansah’s future is something that has been talked about since the summer transfer window opened.

Although he was one of Jurgen Klopp’s right-hand men, Slot hasn’t given him much playing time with the Dutchman preferring to play Virgil van Dijk and Ibrahima Konate over him.

Several clubs from across the globe have been linked with an interest in him, but as per a new report from Sky Sports, it seems like Bayer Leverkusen are leading the way.

The German outfit are now in ‘active talks’ over his transfer; however, the deal is completely separate to the one that will see Florian Wirtz become a Liverpool player imminently.

Last but not least, one player who has refused to leave the Liverpool transfer rumours over the last few weeks is Alexander Isak.

The towering Swede has been Liverpool’s dream striker target for some time now, despite the many links with other players such as Hugo Ekitike.

Isak has plenty of Premier League experience, and even though he’d cost an arm and a leg, he’d be more than worth bringing to Anfield.

Miguel Delaney shared an insight into where Isak’s future may lie, with the journalist admitting that Isak wants to be competing in the Champions League each year now.

And, although the Magpies have given him that for the last couple of seasons, he’s not 100 per cent guaranteed a spot.

With this in mind, a Liverpool move could still be on the cards this summer, if the Anfield outfit can scrape the funds together, of course.
