'Tough afternoon' for Rangers?

Falkirk 0-0 Rangers

Rangers will know they are going to be in for a tough afternoon.

Falkirk have had plenty of plaudits for their form and performances and it should be an entertaining game.

Stewart vs Chermiti

It could come down to which strikers are most lethal.

Barney Stewart's journey from university football to Premiership hot property is well documented and he will be Falkirk's main threat again no doubt after scoring in his latest five matches, with a total of six goals.

Meanwhile, Youssef Chermiti has still not fully justified his big transfer fee as he replaces the injured Ryan Naderi up front.

Will Rangers end trend?

Falkirk v Rangers (12:00)

If Rangers win, it will be only the second time this season when they, Hearts and Celtic have all won on the same weekend.

Will the visitors take the three points? Thumbs up below for yes, thumbs down for no.

Two sides on form

Falkirk v Rangers (12:00)

Rangers come into the game with improving form, their only defeat in their latest 11 outings coming after a penalty shoot out against Celtic in their Scottish Cup quarter-final.

The Ibrox side are unbeaten in four away from home - six domestically, with their last defeat coming against Porto in the Europa League.

However, Falkirk have themselves lost just once in five games, although that came in their last home game two weeks ago against St Mirren, and had a fine win away to Motherwell last time out.

Rohl warns Bairns 'have nothing to lose'

Falkirk v Rangers (12:00)

Rangers' head coach Danny Rohl tells BBC Scotland: "The good news is Mikey [Moore] is available. Skov [Olsen] is available for the bench. Ryan [Naderi] is not available and Dujon we have to take out because of the Astroturf.

"Mikey is a key player for us - he has solutions between the lines. Hopefully, Gassama can continue his performance from last week - he was outstanding in the second half.

"It's about structure. The danger today is we face a team who have nothing to lose - they can play with freedom and risk more. But that gives us opportunities to win the ball in good areas."

'We'll need to be good, but we're confident' - McGlynn

Falkirk v Rangers (12:00)

Falkirk manager John McGlynn tells BBC Scotland: "We know Rangers are going to put up a big fight when they are going for the league title.

"We can play with freedom, but make no mistake, we’re not on the beach. The challenge for us is to try and get to Hibs.

"There’s two teams we’ve not beaten in the league - and that’s Celtic and Rangers. We keep continually setting ourselves new challenges and these are the things we want to try and do.

"It’ll take a good performance and Rangers are a big, strong team, which is why we’ve put more height in the team today.

"We’ll need to be good, but we come into this with confidence after the Motherwell game last week, when we were excellent."

Falkirk's Euro hopes revived?

Falkirk v Rangers (12:00)

Falkirk secured their first-ever top-six finish in the Premiership with a fine 3-2 win away to fourth-top Motherwell last time out - the last time they did so in the top flight was when finishing fifth in 1995.

While they could yet make it via the Scottish Cup, European qualification through the league was seen as a long shot.

However, Hibernian's defeat in Aberdeen on Saturday means the Bairns can move to within two points of the Edinburgh side with a win over Rangers.

Rohl keeping Rangers 'fresh'

Falkirk v Rangers (12:00)

Kevin Thomson

Former Rangers midfielder on BBC Radio Scotland

It's why you have a big squad. There's no doubt Danny Rohl wants to rotate and have a freshness.

He's also throwing down the gauntlet to the players if they want to be in the climax of the season.

He's picked a really attacking team. Rangers will have a lot of the ball. But this Falkirk team have proved they can be more than dangerous against anyone.

Donaldson to help Bairns reach heights?

Falkirk v Rangers (12:00)

Ian McCall

Former Rangers player & Falkirk manager

It's been incredible what Falkirk have done. They sell out here every week now.

When I took over at Falkirk, our reach was to get to 3,000 season tickets - it's doubled now.

The change today is maybe testament to the lack of height. That's why they've maybe brought in Coll Donaldson. Rangers have a good few threats from set-pieces.

Rangers struggles against Bairns

Falkirk v Rangers (12:00)

Those two draws with Falkirk mean Rangers have yet to beat the Bairns this season.

The 1-1 draw the last time the Ibrox side visiting Falkirk Stadium in October, and which put paid to Russell Martin's time with Rangers, was followed by a goalless encounter in Glasgow the month after.

Rangers did win in Falkirk, 4-0 in the League Cup back in 2020, but they have not won there in the league in four visits since 2014.

Falkirk ended Martin's Rangers reign

Falkirk v Rangers (12:00)

Talking of Rangers' last draw away to Falkirk in October.

Poor Russell Martin needed a police escort as he left the stadium in what proved to be his last game as head coach.

Who would have thought they would be back in the title race under new head coach Danny Rohl?

Odds on another draw?

Falkirk v Rangers (12:00)

Rangers are one of the Premiership's draw kings and would have been clear at the top if they had taken three points from some of the 12 out of 32 games that have finished level.

Meanwhile, none of Falkirk’s last eight home league games have been drawn, with the Bairns winning four and losing four since a goalless meeting with Motherwell in December.

Then again, two of the games they have drawn this season were against Rangers.

Rohl rolls dice with four changes

Falkirk v Rangers (12:00)

Rangers head coach Danny Rohl changes four from the side that beat Dundee United last weekend, with captain James Tavernier returning at right-back in place of Dujan Sterling.

Emmanuel Fernandez also comes into central defence, with John Souttar dropping to the bench.

On the flanks, Djedi Gassama comes in for Andreas Skov Olsen, while Youssef Chermiti comes in up front for the injured Ryan Naderi, who is expected to miss the rest of the title run in.

Mikey Moore starts, despite concerns over the on-loan Tottenham Hotspur winger's fitness.
