What is Qualifier 1 in IPL?

Qualifiers 1 is played among those teams who stand at the top two positions in the league rankings. The winner of this game qualifies automatically to participate in the IPL final.

Whereas the loser of this game doesn’t get eliminated, rather gets an opportunity to qualify to the IPL final by playing another Qualifier game. Hence, a top-two finish in league phase holds great significance for any team.

The loser is out of the competition.
