Alessia Russo – Forward – Arsenal – £11.5m – 56%

Just behind Putellas, 56% of managers have picked Arsenal’s number nine, and it's easy to see why. Alessia Russo featured in every league game last season and scored 13 goals, second only to Bunny Shaw. Her movement off the ball makes her one of the most complete number nines in the league. She scores with her left foot, her right foot, and her head, often from unlikely angles. This season she'll be chasing the golden boot herself. Manchester City's star forward is the most expensive player in the game, yet 53% of managers still want her. She also posted a save percentage of 74.6% last season, one of the best in the league. Despite being the joint most expensive keeper at £5.5m, more than half of managers trust her for a clean sheet.

There is no surprise that 41% of managers are backing her with given her impressive record in England and Spain. Ona Batlle spent three seasons at Manchester United before moving to Barcelona, where she won two Champions Leagues and three Liga F titles. She joins Arsenal ready to continue that form, reading the game intelligently and defending with real strength. Her attacking runs from full back add another dimension going forward. At a reasonable £6m, she looks a smart pick for any defence.

Maya Le Tissier – Defender – Manchester United – £6m – 38%

One of the most dependable names in the league, she has been picked by 38% of managers. Maya Le Tissier played every minute of every match last season and has kept improving both on and off the ball. She became the league's youngest captain at just 22 in 2024, and now leads Manchester United's back line with real control. Mapi León – Defender – London City Lionesses – £5.5m – 30%

Another player from Barcelona's golden generation makes this list, chosen by 30% of managers so far. Mapi León won seven Liga F titles and four Champions Leagues during nine years at the Spanish club. This season she swaps Barcelona's colours for London City Lionesses, bringing a calm left foot and a real eye for a pass. Although new to English football, she's already played alongside Chelsea's Lucy Bronze and Arsenal's Ona Batlle, so she knows the standard required. Despite missing a large chunk of last season through injury, 30% of managers still trust the young forward up front.
