Cole Palmer joins Chelsea teammate in Premier League Team of the week after Wolves win

Chelsea’s dominant win over Wolves in the Premier League was a return to the top of his game for one of their key players.

Cole Palmer’s first half hat-trick was more than enough for the Blues as they walked away with a 3-1 win from Molineux.

The Blues retained their place in the Champions League places, and enjoyed the welcome return to form for the England international, who has seen his season restricted by injuries.

Palmer’s record-breaking hat-trick took him to seven Premier League goals of the season, and gave supporters hope that he will again be the key man for the new manager, Liam Rosenior.

Outside of the former Manchester City man, there were a number of other impressive performances to boast about. Joao Pedro scored highly in our player ratings.

The Brazilian won both penalties that were converted by Palmer, and continued to show the hold up play that Chelsea require to get their other attackers into play.

His performance did not go unnoticed at all. In WhoScored’s Team of the Week, they named Pedro alongside his Chelsea teammate as the Blues representatives from the weekend’s football.

Marc Cucurella, who picked up an assist in a very strong performance, was part of a handful of Chelsea players who can count themselves unlucky to not be in there.

Before the game against Wolves, it was reported that Palmer and Pedro had established a close relationship off the pitch since the Brazilian joined Chelsea.

This has translated to their performances on the pitch too, with the Blues reaping the rewards of the partnership.

Palmer admitted he loves playing with Pedro, and Chelsea fans saw a glimpse of what is to come all the way back in the Club World Cup final.

Injuries have restricted it occurring more often this season, but as the Englishman slowly regains his fitness, expect them to enjoy far more performances like Saturday’s together.
