US sports stars Ben Shelton and Trinity Rodman share romance on social media

A new spring romance is blooming in the world of sport.

US tennis star Ben Shelton and football Olympic champion Trinity Rodman have officially taken to social media to confirm their relationship.

Twenty-two-year-old Shelton currently ranked No. 14 in the ATP men's singles standings, posted a picture of the pair on Instagram with Rodman, 22, posing alongside him. The caption for the set of photos said: "I been focused, but I'm steady climbin', I'm nowhere near my peak."

The two US athletes could stand to become another sporting power couple, with Rodman boasting 46 caps for the United States women's soccer team and was part of the roster that won gold at the Olympic Games Paris 2024.

Several tennis stars shared their delight at seeing the two together, including Coco Gauff, Frances Tiafoe and Sloane Stephens, who commented in support.

Mikaela Shiffrin and fellow alpine skier Aleksander Aamodt Kilde, gymnastics GOAT Simone Biles and NFL player Jonathan Owens, and GB's Olympic cycling champions Jason and Laura Kenny are among the elite athletes who have disclosed their relationships in the past.
