Sixers secure Ollie Davies on multi-year deal

The Sydney Sixers are thrilled to announce the signing of New South Wales cricketer Oliver “Ollie” Davies, bolstering the club’s batting stocks ahead of the upcoming KFC Big Bash League season.

The 25-year-old is a dynamic middle order batter from Sydney’s Northern Beaches and one of Australia’s most exciting domestic talents.

Davies joins the Sixers following an established domestic career with the Sydney Thunder and New South Wales, bringing proven run-scoring ability and attacking flair to the magenta.

Davies burst onto the Big Bash League stage with the Thunder in BBL|10, quickly establishing himself as a key contributor.

Renowned for his aggressive stroke play and ability to score quickly, he has accumulated more than 830 BBL runs at a strike rate of 129.61, including three half-centuries across 49 BBL matches.

In first-class cricket for New South Wales, Davies has showcased maturity and consistency, compiling over 1,300 runs at an average of 32.75, including three centuries and seven fifties.

Davies adds valuable depth and versatility to a Sixers batting lineup as the club begins preparations for a renewed push towards championship success in KFC BBL|16.

Ollie’s signing also continues a special family chapter at the Sixers, with his younger brother Joel Davies already contracted at the club.

Having played together previously at the Sydney Thunder, the Davies brothers will reunite in Magenta as just the third brother duo in the Big Bash League history, to don the same colours.

That list includes Jack and Mickey Edwards for the Sixers and Mitch and Shaun Marsh for the Perth Scorchers.

Sydney Sixers General Manager Rachael Haynes welcomed the signing.

Davies said he was thrilled to be joining the Sixers on a long-term deal.
