15-year-old Connie Batley-Smith finished 11th in the U19 singles time trial, won her repechage, and went on to secure third place in the B final after a strong sprint in the final 500 metres.

Club captain Garry Walters said: "This was a remarkable feat for all athletes, two of whom are just 15, to compete three years above and hold their own.

"For Connie to gain a B final podium finish is extraordinary."

The club’s next major target will be the British Rowing Club Championships, set for July.
