Rohit Sharma created history and became the first Indian player to achieve a huge record during the IPL 2025 league stage match between Mumbai Indians and Gujarat Titans (GT) on Saturday (March 29). Rohit flopped with the bat and departed for 8 runs. He started on a positive note and hit Mohammed Siraj for back-to-back boundaries.

The right-arm pacer castled his stumps on the fourth delivery of the chase to end his innings early. The former MI captain departed for a duck in MI's previous game against Chennai Super Kings.

Rohit Sharma created history as he stepped on the field during GT's innings and became the first Indian to play 450 T20s. He made his T20 debut for the Mumbai state team against Baroda in April 2007. He was part of the 2007 T20 World Cup-winning team.

Rohit has played every T20 World Cup played so far. In 2024, Rohit became the first Indian player to win two T20 World Cups. He retired from the shortest format after leading India to a title win in the ICC event.

Rohit is followed by Dinesh Karthik on the elite list. The former India wicketkeeper-batsman has played 412 T20s. Kartthik retired from Indian cricket after IPL 2024 but he is active in T20 leagues. He plied his trade for Paarl Royals in SA20 2025.
