CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – The Virginia women’s tennis team opened the fall portion of its schedule at the Kitty Harrison Invitational Friday through Sunday, Sept. 11-13, at the Chewning Tennis Center in Chapel Hill, N.C.First-year Shannon Lam won three matches to win her eight-player flight. Three other Cavaliers, Katie Rolls, Alyssa James and Blanca Pico Navarro, won two singles matches to advance to the final of their respective flights.The Cavaliers will head to Cary, N.C., to compete in the ITA All-American Championships. The tournament, which is the first opportunity to qualify for the NCAA Individual Championships, runs Sept. 19-27.
