Marco Rose on NUFC

Bournemouth boss Marco Rose feels he knows what to expect from NUFC and Jaissle today.

"In general, there is a clear identity to play quite intense, but it's the Premier League, so every Premier League team tries to play intense," Rose said of Newcastle's tactics under Jaissle, who replaced Eddie Howe midway through pre-season. “They have different patterns in pressing. It depends on what the opponent is doing. Sometimes it's more man-orientated, sometimes it's more covering spaces with the ball. “It's a lot about Elanga, to get him in a spot to have one vs ones or threaten the depth with him. They already assisted goals like this. “So we have to take care, we have to defend well, we have to attack. I think we get chances as well in some situations, that's what you can see, and these kinds of chances, these chances you have to use if you play there.”

It was great to welcome Matias Fernandez-Pard to the club on Tuesday. He's a really exciting addition to the squad and somebody who I'm sure our supporters will enjoy watching. He's technically gifted, brave on the ball and capable of scoring and creating important goals. He's another young, hungry player with a lot of potential, and we're all really looking forward to working with him and helping him develop further here.

They've also experienced a summer of change but have a top coach in Marco Rose, who I know well from his time in Austria and Germany. The former Magpies head coach didn't record a Premier League win over his former side during his time in charge of the club.

Matthias Jaissle's big decision is whether Matias Fernandez-Pardo starts today's game after his £51m move from Lille.

The Belgian forward is not fully up to speed, but is expected to be involved in some form this afternoon.

Dan Burn, Joelinton and William Osula remain sidelined, but there's a chance Tino Livramento could return to the squad after a summer recovering from surgery.

The back four and midfield duo of Nico Gonzalez and Lewis Miley are expected to remain the same, which means a bench role for Sean Steur.

Up top, Anthony Elanga and Yoane Wissa will start, with Bazoumana Toure competing with Harvey Barnes for the left-wing role.
