Alejandro Garnacho picks 'perfect' Man Utd legend as club's best-ever player in 10-man blind ranking, he fully called it

Alejandro Garnacho was thrilled with how his 10-man list featuring a star-studded roster of former Manchester United players turned out after naming the “perfect” top pick.

The 20-year-old Spain-born attacker has endured a mixed 2024-25 Premier League campaign at Old Trafford amid Manchester United’s woeful run of form.

Alejandro Garnacho has scored eight times and registered four assists in 28 matches across all competitions for United this season.

The Argentina international has also been left to fight for his place in the starting United XI after Ruben Amorim’s arrival at Old Trafford in November.

Erik ten Hag was a big fan of Garnacho and the former United manager regularly used the Red Devils winger before he was sacked by the Premier League club.

Ruben Amorim already sent an early warning to Garnacho after the United star was dropped from his squad for the 2-1 win over Manchester City in December 2024.

Garnacho picks Man Utd legend as No 1

Speaking to JD Football, Alejandro Garnacho took part in blind rankings and the Manchester United player was in his element during the challenge.

The Argentina winger ranked United legend Wayne Rooney at No 3 and Red Devils icon Paul Scholes had to settle for the No 4 spot.

Garnacho played alongside Cristiano Ronaldo during the United legend’s second spell at Old Trafford and has considered the Portuguese forward an idol.

However, the United winger placed Ronaldo at No 2 and waited for his final two picks to decide who came out on top in the star-studded list of players.

Garnacho hesitated on Ryan Giggs and wanted to see who the other former United player was before he handed the Welshman the No 1 spot in the rankings.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic was the only other player remaining in the rankings and Garnacho put the former United striker at No 7.

“Giggs, oh, this could be the number one, man,” Garnacho said.

“Let me see the last one. Ah, yeah. So, yeah, the other one [Giggs at No 1] and this one [Zlatan] seven and then it’s perfect.”
