Watch: Roy Keane jokes why he must avoid some Cork City FC staff on next Turner's Cross visit

Roy Keane isn't often wrong, but when he is, at least he can own it.

The former Manchester United captain is a regular visitor to Turner's Cross these days and a few days after attending a Cork City match recently, he knew he'd made a mistake.

Just 20 minutes into City's crucial relegation six-pointer against Sligo Rovers, which the Rebel Army evenutally lost, back at the end of July and talented youngster Cathal O'Sullivan hobbled off with an injury.

It was then in the EZ Living suite during the half-time break that Keane and a number of City officials shared their thoughts on the issue over a cup of tea, as the former Republic of Ireland midfielder recalled on an episode of the Overlap's 'The Green Room' posted on Monday.

"Everyone thinks of an injury - don't they - their worst injury," Keane began.

"Are you qualified to do it..." 🤫

Roy wasn’t buying it at first, until it turned out they were spot on! 😂

"But you know medical staff who watch football hate when pundits start talking about an injury of a player, they're going 'how?'. You know, you make a judgement when it looks bad.

"But we're not medically qualified. We haven't treated the injury, and we don't know what the f*** we're talking about. So medical staff... I was at a Cork City game a few weeks ago and a young lad got injured.

"He went down after about 20 minutes, it looked strange. So I went in at half time for a cup of tea but these lads I know at Cork City and they were like 'I think it's his cruciate.' And I went 'hold on a second lads. The two of you.'

"I kind of know them, I went 'you don't know what you're talking about. I said 'you've already given him a cruciate, have you treated him?' And they were like 'oh, no, no.'

"'Are you qualified the two of ye? No, no.' A couple of days later and he's done his cruciate," he laughs, along with Jamie Carragher and Ian Wright.

"I have to go back to Cork City and these two lads, they're going to go.... I have to avoid them!"

City are back at home on Friday night for a decisive Munster derby with Waterford.

Keane may well be there, but keeping an even lower profile that usual.
