'State-of-the-art' sports and community hub opens in Plymouth

A new sports, wellbeing and community hub has opened in the former Brickfields Sports Centre in Plymouth.

Developed and operated by Plymouth Argyle football club's Argyle Community Trust, the Hub at Foulston Park, external is part of a multi-million-pound redevelopment of the site.

One of nine wellbeing hubs in the city, the Trust said it offered a gym, physical activity programmes, mental health support, youth and veterans' programmes and life-skills training.

Mark Lovell, Trust chief executive officer, said the facility was "something incredibly special" designed to support all members of the community to lead "happier healthier lives".
