Marcus Rashford 'not entirely happy' during latest Barcelona display despite scoring stunning goal

Manchester United loanee Marcus Rashford continued his hot streak at Barcelona by scoring in a win against Elche.

Barcelona beat Elche 3-1 on Sunday evening to keep pressure on Real Madrid in the La Liga title race, and once again, Marcus Rashford was heavily involved.

Last week, Rashford disappointed in El Clasico as Barcelona were beaten by their arch-rivals.

Manager Hansi Flick kept Rashford in the starting XI for the Elche match, and he scored his sixth goal of the season to wrap up the victory.

Rashford is enjoying his football at Barcelona, but the 27-year-old admitted he wasn’t happy after the full-time whistle blew against Elche.

Earlier this week, Rashford was accused of hiding after defeat by Troy Deeney, who noticed a lack of communication from the Carrington graduate following the loss to Madrid.

However, Rashford was the first to criticise his own performance against Elche despite finding the back of the net.

As quoted by Mundo Deportivo, Rashford said: “I try to give my best. I could have done better against Elche and I promise to improve because I’m not entirely happy with my performance overall.

Spanish media react to Marcus Rashford display vs Elche

A few months into his loan spell, Rashford has become popular at Barcelona, but he is yet to fully win over the Spanish press.

Rashford is trying to become consistent after claiming that the environment at United made it difficult to do so.

His fight for consistency continues, with outlet Mundo Deportivo pointing out that Rashford had good and bad moments against Elche.

“Having secured a starting spot while awaiting further significant returns, the Englishman helped launch the counter-attack against Elche’s daring tactical plan. He was quite involved, experiencing both good and bad moments, until he sealed the victory with a stunning goal that showcased his best qualities,” they wrote.
