Alexandra Eala, Jessica Pegula, Amanda Anisimova Among the Players Announced for WTA Singapore Tennis Open

As attention turns to the upcoming US Open, the 2026 Singapore Tennis Open is also drawing closer. Several top players will be looking to make their mark in Singapore and carry that momentum into the final leg of the season as the WTA Race to the Finals heats up.

World No. 3 Jessica Pegula headlines the singles entry list, with defending champion Elise Mertens also returning. The tournament made its comeback in 2025 after more than three decades, and the stakes are even higher this year following its elevation from a WTA 250 to a WTA 500 event.

Alexandra Eala and Jessica Pegula Confirmed for the WTA 500 Singapore Tennis Open

The Singapore Tennis Open presented by BNP Paribas will kick off the Asian Swing, with the main draw scheduled for September 21–27 and qualifying taking place on September 19 and 20. The 28-player singles draw will see the top four seeds receive first-round byes.

A total of 19 players have been announced, with Mirra Andreeva, Amanda Anisimova, Diana Shnaider, Sorana Cîrstea, and Alexandra Eala joining Pegula in a star-studded field. The tournament's official website confirmed the entry list, with all 19 players currently ranked inside the world's top 50.

Pegula, who is preparing to chase her maiden Grand Slam title at the US Open and potentially claim the World No. 1 ranking, expressed her excitement about competing in Singapore.

"I'm so excited to be coming to the Singapore Tennis Open. It's my first time in Singapore. I'm really excited to see the city and all the fans there. So hopefully I'll see you guys there and I can't wait," Pegula said in a video shared on the tournament's official Instagram page.

Eala, meanwhile, echoed Pegula's excitement. The Filipina has enjoyed a breakthrough year and recently climbed to a career-high ranking of World No. 18. After falling in the final round of qualifying and missing out on the main draw last year, the 21-year-old enters the 2026 edition with a dramatically different outlook, carrying a winning streak at the WTA 500 level.

Eala won her maiden Tour-level title at the WTA 500 DC Open earlier this month, beating Pegula in the final.

"I'm so excited to be coming to Singapore this September. I love playing in Southeast Asia. It always makes me feel so at home. So I can't wait to see you all at the Singapore Tennis Open at the Kallang. Get your tickets," Eala said.

The tournament will be played on the indoor hardcourts at OCBC Arena in The Kallang and will also feature a 16-team doubles draw, with Desirae Krawczyk and Giuliana Olmos as the defending champions. The tournament boasts a total prize purse of $1,206,446.
