The second Grand Smash of the table tennis season is upon us, as the United States holds a top-level World Table Tennis event for a first time.

From July 3–13, the Orleans Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, will host the 2025 United States Smash.

Lin Shidong and Sun Yingsha of the People's Republic of China will be looking to add more WTT Grand Smash trophies to their display cabinets, having each won the singles titles at the season's first Smash in Singapore in February.

Standing in their way are their own Chinese teammates as well as a host of would-be challengers, including men's World Cup winner Hugo Calderano of Brazil and Japan's women's team.

World champion Wang Chuqin is the men's second seed behind Lin, while Calderano, Japan's Harimoto Tomokazu, Lin and Wang's teammate Liang Jingkun, Félix Lebrun of France, Sweden's Truls Möregårdh, and Lebrun's brother Alexis complete the top eight seeds on the men's side.

Meanwhile, it is an all-Chinese and Japanese top eight in the women's singles, with Sun joined by teammates Wang Manyu, Chen Xingtong, Wang Yidi, and Kuai Man, as well as Japan's Harimoto Miwa, Hayata Hina, and Odo Satsuki as the top eight seeds. Hosts USA will be counting on Lily Zhang to progress in the women's tournament too.
