Former and current cricketers slammed the ICC for giving India special treatment during the recently concluded Champions Trophy. They mentioned that the Men in Blue had an advantage over other rivals by playing all their matches in Dubai. At the same time, the rivals travelled from one city to another in Pakistan and also took a flight to face the subcontinent team at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.Rohit Sharma’s unit remained undefeated in the tournament and defeated New Zealand by four wickets in the final. Among the prominent active cricketers, Australia captain Pat Cummins also stated that India had a favourable campaign because of playing at one venue. He missed the tournament due to an injury, and the Australian media used his words to target India. However, his teammate Mitchell Starc disagreed with his skipper and reminded everyone that apart from India, players from other countries are playing in several leagues and getting exposure and knowledge about conditions.“I am not sure if playing at one venue was an advantage as cricketers we are getting chances to play in leagues worldwide but the Indian players can only play in IPL. You have players who are competing in five to six leagues a year. They are getting the exposure to white-ball cricket,” Starc said on Fanatics TV.Starc was not surprised by India’s unbeaten run in the Champions Trophy but refused to accept that Rohit’s team is the best in white-ball cricket. He highlighted that India have yet to win the ODI World Cup.“I am not surprised with their win. I didn’t watch the Champions Trophy completely. I played with Varun Chakravarthy at KKR last season and he is a huge talent. The Indian fans will say they are the best in the world but the Aussie supporters will say no,” he added.
