Sandeep Lamichhane Appointed Nepal ODI Captain

Nepal has made Sandeep Lamichhane the captain of the ODI team. He will replace Rohit Paudel.

26-year-old Sandeep will lead the team in the ACC Men's Premier Cup. The team was announced on Monday.

Lamichhane has taken 154 wickets in 77 ODIs. He has captained in 14 ODIs. After that, Paudel took over the captaincy in 2022.

Acquitted after imprisonment of 8 years

In 2022, Sandeep was accused of raping a minor, following which the Kathmandu District Court sentenced him to 8 years in prison.

However, in May 2024, Nepal's Patan High Court completely acquitted him of these charges, after which he made his comeback to cricket.

Rohit Paudel Won 11 Out of 12 ODIs

Nepal achieved remarkable success under Paudel's tenure. Under his captaincy, Nepal won 11 out of 12 ODIs in the ICC Cricket World Cup League-2.

Secured a place for the World Cup Qualifier to be held in Zimbabwe in June 2023. Paudel also played a reliable and important role in the batting order.
