Parish pulled the plug on a £35million deal in the final moments of the window with Guehi having already completed part of his medical.The Eagles star was left furious after he saw talks to seal his dream Liverpool transfer delayed while Palace manager Oliver Glasner put his foot down and threatened to walk away should his defender be sold. Selhurst Park chief Parish chose to stop the deal in its tracks at 4pm on Monday, according to Sky Sports.Liverpool even submitted a deal sheet in an effort to get a deal done in conjunction with the 7pm deadline but Guehi's camp were frustrated as Palace's chairman was left with explaining to do. Guehi was reportedly considering whether to step down as the club's captain following a frustrating end to the window.Glasner had wanted to see another central defender arrive before permitting Guehi to depart, even with less than a year on his contract. But that had not initially appeared to slow progress on a move on the final day of the window.The south London side did sign a defender on deadline day as Jaydee Canvot arrived from French side Toulouse. We wanted to have this replacement at the beginning of the pre-season.“There’s no replacement in the building, it’s clear one part of the agreement is not fulfilled. It’s a tempting situation but if we want to progress, we have to keep him. If we sell we accept a step back."Liverpool are expected to return for Guehi in January or next summer, when he is available for free. A video paying tribute to the defender's time had even been filmed before his move was cancelled.Guehi is currently with England ahead of World Cup qualifiers against Andorra and Serbia.
