Report Card: Mizzou might’ve passed against Auburn, but it didn’t look pretty

AUBURN, Ala. — What's the old saying?

C's get degrees, right?

In the case of Missouri on Saturday night, after a 23-17 double-overtime win over Auburn, sometimes just passing the test by any means necessary — or, maybe more accurately, not failing it — feels good enough.

"That's a really good football team," Missouri coach Eli Drinkwitz said afterward. "They have players all over the field. Those wideouts are unbelievable. Their defense really runs and hits. But our guys went toe-to-toe with them. Really proud of them for that."

Missouri trailed 17-10 in the fourth quarter, then rattled off 13 unanswered to win at Jordan-Hare Stadium for the first time ever — the first seven in the fourth to force overtime, then the final six in the second overtime to prevail.

It was not Mizzou's prettiest performance. But sometimes, getting a win by any means necessary is how you have to navigate some weeks playing in the SEC. This was one of those games.
