Bangladesh squad named for Pakistan ODI Series

Bangladesh have announced their squad for their ODI series against Pakistan in Dhaka.

The three-match series begins on March 11, with the second and third matches on March 13 and March 15 respectively.

Afif Hossain, whose last ODI appearance was back in December 2024, is the most notable recall into the squad. Mahidul Islam has retained his spot from the side's last ODI squad named back in October 2025 against the West Indies, while Litton Das also keeps his spot despite a lean run in the format.

Nurul Hasan, Jaker Ali Anik and Shamim Hossain have missed out, while Hasan Mahmud (tennis elbow) and Tanzim Hasan Sakib (back) remain out. The injured pair are expected to be fully fit by the end of the month.

Chair of the Bangladesh selection panel Gazi Ashraf Hossain explained a number of the decisions, including the retention of Das.

“There may be questions about Litton Das’s recent ODI form, but he has been working closely with the coaches on his game," Hossain clarified.

"We believe he can soon produce his best in this format and are considering him as an option to strengthen the middle order.

"(Afif) brings valuable experience and is currently appears to be in fine touch. Mahidul Islam has been retained and this is a good opportunity for him to fulfil the potential he has shown.”
