Mikel Arteta has provided an update on the fitness of Ben White and Riccardo Calafiori ahead of Arsenal's Champions League clash with PSG.

White has been absent for Arsenal's last two matches against Bolton Wanderers and Leicester City. football.london understands that this is due to a groin problem.

Calafiori, meanwhile, appeared to land awkwardly on his knee during the closing moments of the 4-2 win over Leicester on Saturday. The Italian was then pictured flexing the joint during celebrations of Leandro Trossard's injury time strike before reportedly exiting the Emirates Stadium in tears.

Now Arteta has confirmed that both are a doubt for Tuesday's clash at the Emirates. "Those are the two players that are in contention and we have to review today," he said.

When pressed specifically on Calafiori, Arteta would not be drawn on whether any potential injury was serious. "We didn’t do any training session yesterday," the Spaniard said. "He was a bit emotional after the game. Let’s see how he is today."

It is understood that the injury for Calafiori is not thought to be too serious. Arsenal are guaranteed to be without Martin Odegaard, Mikel Merino, Oleksandr Zinchenko, Takehiro Tomiyasu and Kieran Tierney, however.
