Alex Eala to face Donna Vekic in first round of Berlin Tennis Open

Alexandra “Alex” Eala will face a familiar opponent in the first round of the Berlin Tennis Open, where she is set to take on Croatia’s Donna Vekic.

Eala and Vekic previously met in the Round of 32 of the ASB Classic earlier this year, with the Filipina prevailing, 4-6, 6-4, 6-4.

Vekic also competed in Manila during the Philippine Women’s Open.

The Berlin Tennis Open, a WTA 500 tournament, will feature some of the sport’s biggest stars, including Aryna Sabalenka, Jessica Pegula, Madison Keys, and Elena Rybakina.

The tournament will be held from June 15 to 21.
