Bayern Munich head coach Vincent Kompany lamented a slow start and poor finishing as the Bavarians went down 1-0 to SL Benfica in its final group stage match at the FIFA Club World Cup.Played in the sweltering heat, the game saw the German record champions go down early and the Portuguese Premier League runner-ups stubbornly keep the advantage, despite a raft of substitutions from Kompany after a heavily rotated XI.“The first half wasn’t good at all. The conditions made sure the game wasn’t fluid. In the second half we created a lot of chances and missed a lot of 1v1’s. That’s football, you have to take your chances,” Kompany said in his post-match interview (as captured by @iMiaSanMia).Bayern draws Flamengo for the Round of 16 on Sunday but have avoided Premier League outfit Chelsea FC.“It was either Flamengo or Chelsea. Difficult game either way. We have to prepare well and take the momentum from the second half today,” Kompany added.
