The Women’s Premier League 2026 league stage is building towards a close finish, with Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) the only team to have sealed a place in the WPL playoffs so far.

All four remaining cricket teams - Mumbai Indians (MI), Delhi Capitals (DC), Gujarat Giants (GG) and UP Warriorz (UPW) - remain in contention for the remaining two spots for the WPL 2026 playoffs.

RCB sealed qualification with a commanding 61-run victory over GG on January 19. That result extended their winning run to six matches - the longest streak in WPL history - dating back to their final league game of the 2025 season.

Although RCB have suffered back-to-back defeats since then, they remain well placed at the top of the table, boasting the best Net Run Rate (NRR) among all teams at 0.947.

RCB are also the only side capable of reaching 12 points, while Gujarat Giants remain the only other team which can finish on a maximum of 10. A top-of-the-table finish will earn RCB a direct entry into the final.

At the other end of the standings, UP Warriorz find themselves under pressure, having managed just two wins from six matches.

Even if they win their remaining fixtures against RCB and DC, their NRR of -0.769 - the lowest among all teams - means qualification would still depend on favourable results elsewhere.

How teams qualify for WPL 2026 playoffs

The top three teams on the points table at the end of the 20-match league stage will qualify for the WPL 2026 playoffs. If teams finish level on points after their eight league matches, NRR will determine the final standings.

The team finishing top of the table will qualify directly for the final. The teams placed second and third will contest the Eliminator, with the winner progressing to the final and the loser getting knocked out of the tournament.

The WPL 2026 final will be played in Vadodara on February 5.

Most successful teams in WPL playoffs

Mumbai Indians have qualified for the playoffs in every completed WPL season so far and have featured in a record five playoff matches, winning four and losing just one.
