Kolkata news: Sourav Ganguly’s daughter, Sana, narrowly escapes as a bus hits her car; driver arrested

Former Indian cricket team captain Sourav Ganguly’s daughter Sana narrowly escaped unhurt after a bus hit her car on Friday i.e. on January 3. According to media reports, the incident occurred in the evening in Kolkata's Behala area, when the bus which was toward Raichak crashed into her car. Sana was seated at the front seat next to the driver. Citing sources, media reports added that the car sustained minor damage.

As reported by News18, the family lodged a complaint and the bus driver was arrested for reckless driving.

Meanwhile, in another news, a bus collision accident was reported on January 2 where around 45 passengers were injured when a private bus rammed into two trucks, which had already collided with each other on the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway in Rajasthan's Dausa district. Then on January 3, one more bus accident was reported from Jharkhan where, three persons died and 13 others were injured after a collision between a bus and a truck in Palamu district.

Mumbai BEST bus accident The electric bus, hired on a wet-lease basis by the civic-run Brihanmumbai Electric Supply and Transport (BEST) undertaking and driven by Sanjay More, ploughed into a crowd in Mumbai's Kurla area on December 9. The accident claimed eight lives and left more than 40 persons injured. Several vehicles were also damaged in the incident. More claimed the bus brake failure led to the accident, but police have received a report from the regional transport office (RTO), stating the vehicle was working fine and there was no brake or any other technical failure.

BEST administration claimed that More had received three days' training before he was allowed to drive the electric bus. RTO officials suspect human error and lack of proper training for driving automatic transmission buses could be the reason behind the accident, among the most horrific involving BEST buses in recent history.
