Chennai Super Kings have responded to explosive match-fixing allegations by pledging a full investigation and reaffirming the franchise's zero-tolerance stance on corruption.

The CSK board is scheduled to convene in the coming days, ahead of the franchise's Annual General Meeting on September 25, to formally discuss what the franchise described as an unverified but serious matter.

The allegations emerged from an undercover investigation by Tehelka, which claimed a CSK player supplied confidential playing XI information to a Delhi-based former first-class cricketer, who then sold it to bookmakers operating in London. The middleman reportedly charged Rs 60 lakh per match during the 2025 IPL season, with total earnings from five matches at about Rs 3 crore, according to an undercover reporter.

The expose went further, alleging the operation didn't stop with the IPL. The same player apparently indicated he could organise similar information flows during IPL 2026 if his source could be purchased at the auction; at a reported rate of Rs 1 crore, with a 90 per cent accuracy guarantee attached.

That source, however, was not picked up in the auction. The expose also alleged that classified team information from the Delhi Premier League was shared, and that the tip provided matched the actual playing XI announced for a DPL fixture on August 3 of the most recent season.

CSK's response: Board meeting, investigation to follow

A CSK official, who declined to be named given the sensitivity of the situation, told Cricbuzz that the franchise's board will discuss the matter ahead of the AGM.

"We have our Annual General Meeting coming up. Our board will meet ahead of the AGM. We will discuss the matter," the official said, while stressing that the information currently available has not been independently verified.

The franchise was previously handed a two-year suspension after a member of its promoter group was implicated in illegal betting, making the current allegations particularly sensitive for a club that has spent years rebuilding its reputation since that episode.

DDCA responds to Delhi Premier League fixing allegations

The Delhi & District Cricket Association issued a measured statement acknowledging the reports without drawing conclusions from them. The DDCA confirmed it had written to the appropriate authorities and shared the information that came to its attention, while calling for due process to be followed before anyone is labelled at fault.

"The Delhi and District Cricket Association has taken note of recent reports concerning irregularities involving certain players and a franchise associated with the Delhi Premier League (DPL)," the DDCA said in its statement.

"DDCA would like to clarify that the allegations referred to in these reports are unverified and have not been established by any competent authority. The association believes it would be inappropriate to draw conclusions about any individual, player or franchise based solely on such allegations.

"Given the seriousness of the matter, DDCA has written to the respective authorities and shared the information that has come to its notice, requesting that the matter be examined through the appropriate established processes.

"DDCA believes it is important to distinguish between allegations and established facts and allow the due process to take its course. The association remains committed to safeguarding the integrity, credibility and reputation of cricket in Delhi."

The BCCI and the ICC's Anti-Corruption Unit have not yet commented on the specific allegations raised in the Tehelka investigation.
