The ICC Women's ODI Cricket World Cup 2025 is being held from September 30 to November 2 with India and Sri Lanka acting as co-hosts.The Women's Cricket World Cup, the premier tournament in the ODI format, features some of the finest players and batters from across the globe.Numerous batters have already made their mark in the ongoing edition of the World Cup.Australia’s Ashleigh Gardner hit the first century of the Women's Cricket World Cup 2025 when she struck an 83-ball 115 against New Zealand. The same match also witnessed New Zealand’s Sophie Devine score a run-a-ball 112.Australian skipper Alyssa Healy finished as the leading scorer in the last edition of the Women’s ODI World Cup in 2022 when she made 509 in nine innings at an average of 56.55.England’s Enid Bakewell, on the other hand, finished as the leading scorer in the inaugural edition of the Women’s ODI World Cup in 1973 when she made 264 in six matches.Former New Zealand batter Debbie Hockley holds the record for most runs in Women’s ODI World Cup history with a total of 1501 runs to her name. She also finished as the top-scorer in the 1997 edition of the tournament with 456 runs from seven games.Meanwhile, England’s Jan Brittin is the only player to have finished with the most runs in two editions of the 50-over showpiece. She topped the scoring charts with 391 and 416 runs in 1982 and 1993, respectively.Margaret Jennings (127), Karen Rolton (393), Lindsay Reeler (448), Tammy Beaumont (410), Suzie Bates (407), Claire Taylor (324) and Charlotte Edwards (280) are some of the other players to have topped the scoring charts at World Cups over the years.
