Indian Test captain Shubman Gill etched his name into cricketing history with a record-breaking run in the fourth Test at Old Trafford, Manchester. The 25-year-old became the first player to smash four centuries in his maiden Test series as captain, equalling legends like Don Bradman and Sunil Gavaskar. His ninth Test century made him the first Indian since Sachin Tendulkar to achieve the feat in Manchester.

1 / 8 Shubman Gill became the first player to hit 4 centuries in a maiden Test series as captain. Five others — Don Bradman, Warwick Armstrong, Greg Chappell, Virat Kohli, and Steven Smith — are now joint-second with three each in their debut series as skippers.

7 / 8 Shubman Gill became the third Indian cricketer, after Sunil Gavaskar and Yashasvi Jaiswal, to score 700+ runs in a bilateral Test series. He is overall the fourth cricketer to score more than 700 runs in a Test series played between India and England.
