Alexandra Eala secures first grass win of 2026 season at Birmingham Open

Alexandra Eala is back on tennis' grass courts in style.

The Filipina marked her first victory of the grass season with a masterful 6-0, 6-2 over Priscilla Hon at the Birmingham Open on Tuesday (2 June).

The top seed for the women’s singles event, the Filipina sailed through the first set against her no.94-ranked Australian opponent in just 22 minutes, before confidently wrapping up the second.

The 21-year-old bounced back from a difficult loss in the doubles draw on Monday, when she and partner Nikola Bartunkova fell to a narrow defeat to British duo Harriet Dart and Maia Lumsden.
