IPL 2023: 5 Top IPL Players That Franchises Will Not Trade For Next Auction

The BCCI has mandated that all IPL teams provide a list of the players they have retained and released by November 15. All of the teams have begun creating their lists because there isn’t much time left. Additionally, a few names are emerging that the teams might cut from their squads.

With the addition of new young guns and the in-form players during the IPL 2023 trading window, there are chances of some top players even not getting their base price and remaining unsold. Know the name of 5 top players who might not be traded for the IPL 2023 auction.

Kane Williamson

Prior to the IPL 2022 Mega-Auction, SRH purchased New Zealand captain Kane Williamson for INR 14 Cr. The Kiwi, though, struggled and has since delivered a lackluster effort for his nation in T20 Internationals. Although Kane is a world-class cricketer, investing INR 14 crore in him is a splash given the function that he serves. If Kane’s poor performance persists, SRH may decide to release him given the abundance of young openers with aggressive intent on the trade.

Rassie van der Dussen

In limited-overs cricket, Rassie van der Dussen has been a run bank for South Africa. The star player has played 41 T20 Internationals and amassed 1044 runs with a strike rate of 128.72. Rajasthan selected the seasoned cricketer in this year’s super auction to improve their batting.

The 33-year-old, however, did not consistently receive opportunities and spent the majority of the season warming the bench. Rassie didn’t perform spectacularly in the three games he played in the 2022 season, either.

Mayank Markande

Mayank Markande, a leg-spinner, became well-known in 2018 following a breakout year with the Mumbai Indians. After a couple of unremarkable seasons with the Rajasthan Royals, Mumbai once more purchased Mayank during the Mega Auction. However, he might not be getting any bids during the IPL 2023 trading window.

Siddharth Kaul

Prior to the IPL 2023 auction, Siddharth Kaul might be one of the players released by RCB. He entered the IPL 2022 as Mohammad Siraj’s replacement and participated in just one game. It will be difficult for Siddharth Kaul to keep his spot in the IPL 2023 if he doesn’t put on a noteworthy performance for the Duleep trophy.

Ajinkya Rahane

Before the IPL 2023 auction, Ajinkya Rahane will probably be released by the KKR team management. In the 15th edition, he only managed 133 runs in 7 games. Rahane has since warmed the KKR bench. His performance in domestic cricket does not merit keeping him in the KKR team for the IPL in 2023.
