At 22 years and 112 days old, Nick Daicos will become Collingwood’s youngest captain in 57 years when he leads the Pies out on Anzac Day this Friday.

Stepping up in place of the injured Darcy Moore, the fourth-year star will assume the role for the first time in what will be his 77th career game.

Pinned Nick will become the second Daicos to Captain Collingwood, following in his father Peter's footsteps.

He will become the fourth-youngest Pie to lead the black and white after Len Thompson in 1968 (20 years and 244 days), Dick Lee in 1910 (21 years and 91 days) and Murray Weideman in 1958 (22 years and 62 days).

Having already added a Copeland trophy, two All-Australian blazers and a premiership to his list of accolades, this is the most tangible example of the midfielder’s rise as one of the Club’s top leaders.

Pinned Nick will Captain his childhood Club for the first time this Friday.

Elevated to the leadership group as Vice-captain for the first time in season 2025, the stand-in captaincy nod follows in his father Peter's footsteps after he skippered on multiple occasions throughout the late 1980s and early 1990s when Tony Shaw was unavailable.

Nick will become the youngest captain in the league for the round, taking over from Gold Coast’s Noah Anderson, whom he was teammates with during school football.
