Buriram United have once again underlined their ambition to continue their domination of the Thai League 1 with the signing of Spanish right-back Marc Navarro.

The reigning champions, known as the Thunder Castle, have further reinforced their squad ahead of the new campaign, and the arrival of Navarro is regarded as one of the most eye-catching deals of the close season.

Navarro, 29, began his footballing journey with CF Badalona before progressing through the youth ranks at FC Barcelona and Espanyol.

It was at Espanyol that he made his professional breakthrough, featuring in 36 matches and contributing three goals and four assists.

His assured performances earned him a move to the Premier League with Watford in 2018, where he gained valuable experience despite limited opportunities. He played 13 times for the Hornets, registering one assist, before returning to Spain on loan with Leganes.

Seeking fresh challenges, Navarro later crossed the Atlantic to join El Paso Locomotive in the United States in 2022. Two years on, he moved to Poland with Arka Gdynia, where he established himself over three seasons in the Ekstraklasa. His decision to switch to Asia marks the latest chapter in a career that has spanned four countries and some of football's most competitive leagues.

Buriram United believe Navarro's pedigree will add steel and experience to their defensive line. He is expected to be a central figure in their push for domestic supremacy and continental recognition.

For Navarro, the move represents both a new adventure and the chance to anchor a side intent on extending its dominance in Thailand's top flight.
