The opener, cramped for room by the short delivery, sent the ball up high, but Gill’s sharp anticipation turned it into a spectacular dismissal. Mohammed Siraj added to the damage by bowling Jomel Warrican for one before Khary Pierre (23) and Anderson Phillip (24 not out) offered some resistance with a 46-run stand.

After lunch, Jasprit Bumrah ended Pierre’s stay, and Kuldeep wrapped up the innings by trapping Jayden Seales lbw for 13 to seal a commanding lead of 270 runs. India are firmly in control and on course for a series-clinching win after having taken the first Test in Ahmedabad by an innings and 140 runs.
