What Chelsea fans are now saying about Frank Lampard as Coventry City thrash QPR 7-1

Frank Lampard has plenty of Chelsea supporters talking right now following Coventry City’s win against Queens Park Rangers on Saturday.

Lampard‘s side thrashed Chelsea‘s west London rivals at home, winning 7-1 on the day. By half-time, they were already 5-0 up, showing just how good their performance was.

Chelsea were also successful in their own league fixture on Friday, beating West Ham United 5-1.

Enzo Fernandez got into the box Lampard-style to score his team’s third goal at the London Stadium. Chelsea play Fulham next before the international break, an international break that will see Fernandez get some rest after the midfielder was left out of Argentina’s squad amid his suspension.

Chelsea fans praise Frank Lampard after QPR thrashing

Chelsea supporters were impressed by Lampard and Coventry’s victory over QPR and made that known on social media.

One Chelsea fan thinks Lampard is actually too good for the Championship! He said: “His management is too good for the Championship but subpar for the Premier League lol… 1 to 2 more years and he might actually be insane ngl.”

Another Chelsea supporter had to bring London rivals Arsenal into the conversation, saying: “Better than [Mikel] Arteta in my books.”

Another fan has backed the retired midfielder to return to Stamford Bridge one day for a third spell in the dugout. “Doing well eh, looking forward to winning the Prem with him. One day he will return.”

One user on X posted: “I am so happy he is bossing it back in club management.”

Another wrote: “Lampard silently cooking at Coventry this season, I see you GOAT.”

For one Chelsea supporter, the win was “magnificent”. “Frank Lampard’s Coventry sticking 7 past QPR. You have to say that’s magnificent.”

It really was an impressive victory, especially when you take into account Coventry’s xG. Despite registering an xG of just 1.26, they still managed to score seven goals.

All in all, Lampard remains a respected figure among supporters and players. Noni Madueke named Lampard in his all-time favourite XI before his move to Arsenal.

What Chelsea fans said about Frank Lampard and Enzo Maresca last season

Chelsea fans are very happy with Enzo Maresca at the moment. Last season, he guided their team to the Club World Cup and Conference League trophies as well as Champions League qualification.

However, there was one stage when they were really dissatisfied with the 45-year-old. Several Chelsea supporters compared Maresca and Lampard, claiming that the latter did a much better job during his first season at the club after finishing fourth under a transfer ban.

In the end, though, Maresca obviously had a much more successful campaign after delivering both silverware and Champions League football.
