It certainly wasn’t Liverpool’s best performance of the season against West Ham.

You see the mix-up between Andy Robertson and Virgil van Dijk that led to the goal, but it was an amazing recovery from him to go and score the winner.

It shows you why Liverpool gave him that new contract during the week. It’s a lot of money for centre-half – usually it’s strikers getting paid the most – but there’s so much more to Van Dijk.

He’s not just a great defender, he’s a brilliant passer of the ball and he’s a real leader.

The West Ham game encapsulated that. He makes a mistake and thinks “I’m not having this” and goes and wins the game.

It’s the kind of thing Steven Gerrard used to do – grab the game by the scruff of the neck and take control.

He organises people too and is a great role model to have around the club so he’s the type of captain you want leading your club.

Also, they’ve given him and Mo Salah big contracts for the next few years because you can’t sign players like them without spending £300million!

And they can definitely win more trophies with these two players over the coming seasons.

They’re going to Leicester this Sunday and could possibly win the league this week if Arsenal lose.

Leicester have been absolutely miles off it most of the season. The manager’s struggled to get a tune out of them and whenever you see them play they look devoid of ideas.

And one of the problems for Leicester, as well as the other promoted sides now, is that it’s not just the top sides in the Premier League that are way ahead, it’s that those in the middle too. Forest, Brighton, Brentford, Palace, Newcastle – so many of these sides are so good that you just can’t see them going down.

And I know a lot of Leicester fans weren’t happy with the Steve Cooper appointment last summer, but I think he was getting more out of them than we’ve seen since he left.

Their home record’s been abysmal, it’s never going to keep you up if you can’t win at your own ground.

And I can’t see them getting anything out of Liverpool on Sunday. I’ve gone big with my prediction, I could see a 3-0 win for Liverpool and will go for Liverpool -1 in this week’s Bet Builder.

Mo Salah’s not been quite as blistering in the goal scoring stakes as he has been earlier in the season but he’s still looking like he’ll set records.

I wouldn’t be surprised if he gets more on Sunday, but I’ll go for Luis Diaz to have a shot on target after his recent goals and Diogo Jota to score as he’s due one.

Liam Delap to score

Arsenal were unbelievable over the two legs against Madrid. They were different class. Not just the results but the performances were excellent. The two wingers in particular were brilliant – Bukayo Saka is quite obviously world class now.

Of course, you might think the big exploits in Europe could distract from the Premier League this weekend and going away to Ipswich, but I still fancy Arsenal to keep their focus and get over the line.

I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s tight though. I could see it finishing 2-1 to Arsenal, and I like Liam Delap for a goal.

I played with his dad, which makes me feel just slightly old now, but he is a top player and has a big future ahead of him. He was rested last week, but I assume he’ll be back in on Sunday and seems a good shout for a goal.
