Rio Ferdinand makes 'devastating' Mohamed Salah claim after what he did for Liverpool vs Real Madrid

Liverpool ended their winless streak against Real Madrid with a 2-0 win against Los Blancos at Anfield.

Alexis Mac Allister and Cody Gakpo were the heroes on the night with the Liverpool duo scoring in the second-half to extend the Reds winning run in the UEFA Champions League to five games, with Arne Slot’s side looking set to finish in the top-eight.

With Conor Bradley winning praise from Liverpool fans for his performance against Madrid, it was an incredible night on Merseyside for the Premier League leaders, even with Mohamed Salah missing a penalty.

And Rio Ferdinand has made a new claim about the Liverpool winger after tonight’s performance at Anfield.

Ferdinand in awe by Salah’s ‘devastating’ attacking presence

Speaking on TNT Sports coverage of the match, the pundit noted how Salah is now one of the most ‘devestating’ players in world football after winning a penalty with ease against Madrid defender Ferland Mendy.

Although Salah missed the penalty, the 32-year-old winger once again showed why he is arguably the best player in world football this season, with the Liverpool attacker taunting Mendy for the majority of the game.

And Ferdinand was impressed with what he saw from Salah, with the Liverpool no. 11 again giving one of the best teams in Europe plenty of problems and helping his side to yet another famous win under Slot.

Ferdinand said: “Mendy’s very quick in the one-v-one, but Salah’s at the top of his game and one of the most devastating players in the world right now, he just teases him.”

Salah’s contract dominated headlines leading up to tonight’s game, with the winger coming out on Sunday after Liverpool’s win against Southampton that he had yet to receive any offer from the Reds.

And the Egyptian international showed the Liverpool hierarchy tonight against Madrid why he should be handed a new contract, with Salah in sensational form for the Reds and giving the reigning European champions plenty of issues.

Indeed, Salah is seemingly keen to stay at Liverpool beyond this season, and the forward is proving every game why he deserves a new bumper contract, with the winger in sensational form once again.
