After winning the Wimbledon title in July, Iga Swiatek was on the hunt for a second Grand Slam of the year in New York.Kicking off her US Open campaign with wins over Emiliana Arango, Suzan Lamens, Anna Kalinskaya, and Ekaterina Alexandrova, Swiatek booked her place in the quarterfinals. There she met home favorite Amanda Anisimova, who was after revenge, having lost to Swiatek 0-6, 0-6, in the 2025 Wimbledon final. In a remarkable turnaround, Anisimova defeated Swiatek 6-4, 6-3, on Arthur Ashe Stadium, knocking the Pole out of the US Open.Sharing their post-match reactions, Laura Robson and Marion Bartoli noticed Swiatek’s team doing something ‘a lot’ throughout the quarterfinal.Laura Robson and Marion Bartoli heard Iga Swiatek’s team shouting ‘a lot’ during her US Open exitSpeaking to Sky Sports after the match, Robson gave her verdict on Swiatek’s player box.“The sort of attitude from the player’s box was really interesting for me,” she said.“Wim [Fissette] was, as usual, quite quiet, but the rest of the box was getting quite agitated. This has been a couple of rounds now that we’ve heard from them, a lot, during the match.“So, it’s just, it maybe doesn’t help the situation.”More Tennis News2013 Wimbledon champion Bartoli agreed, as she weighed in on the ‘aggressive shouting’ from Swiatek’s coaching staff.“I just think the vibe was completely different from each box. On the one side, you had [Amanda] Anisimova’s box, everyone was very positive, always very encouraging, giving that positive message, even on the rare occasion that she missed, giving the confidence that she was doing the right thing,” she said.“On the other side, I don’t speak Polish, so I can’t understand what they were saying, but there was a lot of shouting.“Even though, of course, it’s a loud court, the shouting is quite aggressive, into the message you’re receiving.“Based on the voice tone, it put Iga in a lot more difficulty.”Swiatek’s coaching team has been a major point of discussion this year, with some suggesting she should have parted ways with Fissette when results weren’t going her way.Things seemed to have clicked between the pair when she won Wimbledon and Cincinnati, but there’s clearly still some more work to be done. After the match, Sky Sports showed footage of Swiatek in conversation with Fissette, looking visibly frustrated, having suffered her second consecutive US Open quarterfinal exit.Looking to move on from her defeat to Anisimova, Swiatek will return to action two weeks from now, in Seoul, South Korea.Iga Swiatek’s 2025 WTA Tour scheduleBetween now and the end of the season, Swiatek is likely to play four more tournaments. She’ll first head to Seoul for the Korea Open WTA 500 event, where she will compete as the number-one seed and tournament favorite. Then, Swiatek will head over to China for the two WTA 1000 events in Beijing and Wuhan. Finally, she’ll compete at the WTA Finals in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, having already qualified for the year-end finals alongside her biggest rival, Aryna Sabalenka.Top ten in the ‘Live WTA Race’Swiatek won the tour finals two years ago, defeating Jessica Pegula in Cancun, Mexico. She’ll be hoping for more of the same in 2025, but will first focus on the WTA 500 event in Korea. The 2025 Korea Open is scheduled to begin on Monday, September 15.
