Rangers 'reach verbal agreement to sell Nico Raskin' with Belgian in line to face Celtic in Europa League

NICO RASKIN is reportedly closing in on an Ibrox exit.

The Belgian midfielder has been desperate to leave Glasgow all summer, but saw a dream move to one of Europe‘s top five leagues slip by him as transfer windows shut across the continent last night.

However, Raskin could still seal a move away from Rangers before the week is out, with a few foreign transfer windows remaining open.

And according to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, the 25-year-old is on the brink of completing a switch to Turkish giants Besiktas.

It is understood a verbal agreement has been reached between the two clubs, leaving the final decision down to the player.

Should he complete the move to Istanbul, Raskin would be in line for a sensational return to Scotland to face Celtic in the Europa League.

The Hoops host the Turkish side at Parkhead in their fourth league phase fixture on November 5.

Besiktas are long-time admirers of the Belgian midfielder and have tracked him across previous transfer windows.

A move to Turkey previously looked off the table, with Raskin holding out for a top-five European league.

But after missing out on a switch to England, Spain or Italy, he may now be left with no other option.

A move to Besiktas would hand him the chance to play European football this season — something he won’t get at Rangers following their disastrous Conference League exit to FK Jablonec.

Raskin was left behind in Glasgow for that trip to the Czech Republic amid ongoing transfer interest, despite no concrete offer being on the table at the time.

The Turkish transfer window closes on Friday night but Besiktas have until 11pm tonight to get the deal over the line to register him for Europe.
