It’s a dream draw for a Manchester City side who are in the midst of a difficult run of fixtures and a cup final on the horizon.

A chance for Pep Guardiola to rest some of his players that fought back superbly to beat Liverpool at the weekend.

That was a much needed result and just puts down a marker that City might not be playing at their pinnacle at the minute but aren’t about to lie down in any competition.

And the fact they didn’t win one last year makes the FA Cup that bit more special for Pep and his side.

They should have too much for a Salford City side – part-owned by ex-United players of course – who have their attentions on finally getting themselves out of League Two.

They’re currently in sixth spot in the fourth tier but have lost two of their last three games, having failed to sailed in those two games.
