Sky TV apologises after outage shows cycling instead of All Blacks v Lions

One person texted to say: “Sky Sport Now isn’t showing the All Blacks game when you log in, it’s only showing cycling.”

Another said: “Sky is really mixed up this morning. Just tried to tune in into IndyCars as can’t get the rugby and they’re showing the West Indian cricket.”

On social media, some Sky customers called for refunds. Mike Enoka said: Cmon @skysportnz – this is laughable. Are you going to refund us for a faulty product? How can you not have support available for something you know a lot of NZers will be watching? Dont call yourself Sky Sport Now if you’re only working 9-5."

Influencer How to Dad shared his experience with the platform, writing on Facebook “I’m sad for me, I’m sad for New Zealand”.

“The sport streaming platform we all use is broken and the nation got up at 4.50am to watch the game.”

Stundrah said: “Sky sport nz just ruined my family’s morning! We get up with our kids to watch the lads do the haka LIVE and I’m watching dudes in spandex pedal around a hill! I already dislike cyclists and now sky sports made me dislike them more“.

One All Blacks fan who contacted the Herald said, “Really upset. Sky TV dropped the ball with the live feed for all blacks game. Showing silly cycling. No rugby feed. Totally unacceptable”.

More than 100 disgruntled viewers voiced their dissatisfaction in the comments of a Sky Sport NZ Facebook post.

“Imagine waking up at 5am to watch the ABs… only for Sky Sport to be the one who sleeps through the alarm. You literally had one job this morning", one said.

“Lions are 14-0 up thanks Sky. Refund a days extortionate subscription cost please while I try find somewhere to listen online. Having to watch online updates while Sky Sport 1 plays the cycling”, another wrote.
