Andrew Tye Signs for Yorkshire

The Yorkshire County Cricket Club is pleased to confirm the signing of Andrew ‘AJ’ Tye.

The Australian fast bowler has signed on a two-year Vitality Blast contract and adds experience to the Yorkshire bowling unit.

Tye’s trademark knuckleball has made him one of the world’s most damaging T20 bowlers, known for his exceptional death bowling. The right-hander has taken 47 wickets in 32 IT20’s and 86 wickets across six previous seasons in the Vitality Blast.

Tye currently stands second in the all-time leading wicket takers in the Australian Big Bash competition.

“It’s a real privilege to be signing for Yorkshire. There is a proud tradition of Australian cricketers at Yorkshire and I’m excited to add to this and get amongst it with the guys”, said Tye.

“I know I can add some real depth of experience to the side. The Blast is a great tournament to be involved in, and I know how important it is to a side like Yorkshire to be in the mix to win it.”
