Mirka was with him throughout the highs and lows of his professional career so she would be a fitting choice to introduce her husband.2. She was inducted into the International Tennis Hall of Fame in 2013 before coming out of retirement and playing four more years before her final retirement in 2017.Advertisement3. Rafael NadalRoger’s foe turned close friend, Rafael Nadal, would also be an ideal choice to do the honors. Nadal made a special effort to go to the 2022 Laver Cup and play with Federer in his final tournament. Their relationship continues now that both are retired.Two other possibilities come to mind, but both will be more than likely be playing at the US Open so they wouldn’t be able to do it. They are Stan Wawrinka and Novak Djokovic.Wawrinka and Federer were Swiss compatriots who have known each other since they were kids. Stan is retiring at the end of 2026 so it is more than likely that he will get a wildcard to play in New York.Novak Djokovic is not planning to retire anytime soon so he will definitely be in action at the 2026 US Open, and therefore, could not be in Newport, Rhode Island for the event.
